Spenser was one of those singular cats who took no quarter from anyone, man nor beast. He was a wildman as a kitten, happy to spend the day leaping up and down the slider doors, just because he could.  When labradors came into his life, he took it as his mission to school them well.  Hawke spent many hours trapped in her crate, because as a 75 pound labrador there was no way she could move the 13 pound cat at its entrance. When Kestrel came along, it was his job to instruct her in the proper ways to deal with a cat.
